Massachusetts is unique among the States in that in 1865 they established their own Veterans Safety net known as Mass General Laws Chapter 115.  This benefit provides a minimum of $1545 a month towards living expenses.  it should be notes that any other income received is directly offset against this minimum income.

Massachusetts also has a seperate pot of money for medical benefits.  This is available for Veterans earning less than $1805 a month ($2400 a month if married).  This benefit can be broadly used against almost any medical cost.

Access to these benefits is controlled by the Veterans Officer in your Massachusetts Town.
