Medication Management is one of those major issues that will stop it being possible for a Senior to be by themselves.  If a Senior forgets to take their pills on time and every time they can rapidly deteriorate physically.  It is also likely that they will be at substantially greater fall risk due to vertigo or other side effects of medication mismanagement.

Fortunately there is a solution. The Maya pillbox from Medminder is the World's first cellular network connected pillbox.  When it is time to take a medication the individual compartment lights up and flashes, after 15 minutes it starts to beep, 15 minutes more passes and it starts to send emails and also physically calls a cell or land-line telephone.  After the fact a family member or Caregiver can go on-line and confirm that the pills were removed from the box.

I am such a big believer in this product that we will provide it free for any Waltham Home Instead Senior Care client that uses us for 20 hours or more a month.  If you are not in our area call us (781-314-0153) and we will connect you to the company.

The diagram below shows the product and provides an overview of how it interacts with various people involved with care.
